A memorable evening of music, word and song

Celebrating St Cecilia

On a chilly November evening it was a great pleasure to welcome to St Stephen Walbrook a host of supporters of music from London’s churches to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in the life of the Musicians’ Church. The St Stephen Voices directed by Andrew Earis and John Rutter CBE, patron of the Musicians’ Church, performed a sparkling variety of brief works celebrating St Cecilia’s day and the joy of music. Ending the joyful evening, all joined together in a rousing rendition of John Rutter’s hymn “Eternal God, we give you thanks for music”, conducted by the composer.
