It’s exactly a year since the Diocese of London launched the Musicians’ Church website, www.musicianschurch.org. Its aim was to provide an online home for musicians to identify, view and book the many churches throughout the City and beyond that have facilities for concerts, events and rehearsals. Over the past few months, much work has been going on behind-the-scenes to grow and develop this new online resource. This month, to mark St Cecilia’s Day, a new and more comprehensive website will be launched, continuing the expansion of the new community of Musicians’ Churches in London and beyond.
At the same time, the Diocese of London have also announced that the home of the network of Musicians’ Churches will be established at St Stephen Walbrook, a beautiful Wren church in the heart of the City of London. St Stephen’s is already home to an exciting music programme.
These new initiatives are being celebrated at St Stephen Walbrook on Thursday 22nd November at 6.00pm in ‘A performance of words and music for St Cecilia’s Day’, directed by Dr John Rutter CBE and Dr Andrew Earis. All are welcome.
